SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Senior Software Engineer on a team developing Linux-based
appliance systems deployed in Government and Fortune 1000
company data centers.
The successful candidate will have proven leadership capabilities,
strong organizational and time management skills, and will
rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish
goals. This is a “hands on” position where the
candidate will code and support major system components. The
candidate will be required to perform a variety of complicated
tasks, provide consultation on complex projects, and is expected
to be a top level contributor with excellent written and verbal
communications skills.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline
6-8 years of Software Engineering experience
Experience with running/integrating open source projects
and shell/perl/ruby scripting
Strong hands-on background in Linux, UNIX QNX or similar
OS
Primary development using C, Java, and standard Linux
development tools including CVS
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
System Administration experience (Linux/UNIX) a plus
Linux kernel construction
Knowledge/experience with IBM mainframe interfaces
such as parallel channel (B&T), ESCON, FICON, etc.
This position will be located in Raleigh, NC.

ENTRY LEVEL SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Visara is currently seeking an entry level software engineer
to support the development of numerous Linux software applications.
Applicant will participate in all aspects of the software
development process, including requirements analysis, design,
test, integration, and documentation. Software development
at Visara is based on communication and team collaboration.
Every team member contributes to the creatively of our projects.
Responsibilities:
Develop software from documented requirements and
specifications
Assist in coding, debugging and testing of new software
or enhancements to existing software
Analyze, debug and repair software defects in development
and production software
Assist in full product regression testing, i.e. unit
test of production product to assure compliance to specifications
Share ideas and explore new practices to continually
improve code quality and development process
Work in multidisciplinary teams on various projects
Position Requirements:
Proficiency in Linux, UNIX, QNX, or similar language
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work well with a team and independently
B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
or related field
0 – 2 years related experience
Disciplined and self-motivated with strong work ethic
This position will be located in Raleigh, NC.
